Carissimi giocatori di Diplomacy,

il giorno 28 e 29 Giugno 2008 a Pisa verrà disputata la prima edizione di una manifestazione che vede protagonista il Diplomacy ed é valida per il CISD 2008 (CAMPIONATO ITALO- SANMARINESE DIPLOMACY), ovviamente nella modalità Face-to-Face.

Quest'anno Pisa è protagonista per la prima volta di uno dei diversi appuntamenti che ci saranno sul nostro territorio nazionale, una possibilità che ci viene offerta ed un impegno prestigioso che cercheremo di rispettare al meglio delle nostre possibilità, ci auspichiamo quindi che molti "diplomatici" italiani risponderanno a questo importante appello consci che potrà aiutare sicuramente la crescita del nostro hobby sul territorio nazionale. E' anche questo un modo per dare un forte segnale a chi ci vede dall'estero e che segue le evoluzioni di noi italiani.

Non penso proprio che ci sia bisogno di farne pubblicità ma per chi ancora non la conoscesse, Pisa é una ridente città della Toscana, famosa in tutto il mondo per le sua storia e i suoi monumenti. La famosa Piazza dei Miracoli, con la Torre Pendente, la famigerata Torre di Pisa, è stata proclamata Patrimonio dell'Umanità dall'UNESCO nel 1987. La città ha origini liguri, ed è, come tutte le città della Toscana, ricca di storia e di arte. Le stagioni favorevoli per visitarla sono l'estate, per la bellezza del suo litorale, e fine estate e inizio autunno per le bellissime sfumature che assumono le sue colline.
Pisa e la Toscana, un connubio in cui Arte, Storia, Cultura, Buona Cucina, Paesaggi unici si mescolano per dare emozioni indimenticabili.

Siamo ben più che lieti di avere l'onore di essere ospitati dall'A.C.S.I. - Associazione Centri Sportivi Italiani - di Pisa, la cui sede risulta collocata in Via dei Cappuccini n°7.
La struttura che ci ospiterà ci metterà a disposizione un grande ambiente dove poter allestire i tavoli ed al suo esterno, per chi arriverà con mezzi propri (auto-munito) ci sarà la possibilità di un facile parcheggio nelle vicinanze.
La Location é collocata a pochissimi metri dalla Stazione Centrale delle Ferrovie di Pisa.
Inoltre, se ce ne sarà la possibilità, oltre al Diplomacy, verranno disputate partite libere dei più svariati giochi da tavolo come wargames e boardgames.

Perché è stato scelto Giugno? Perché l'ultima settimana?
Giugno per Pisa è un mese importante, c'è il Giugno Pisano, mese ricco di appuntamenti che rievocano gli antichi fasti del periodo delle Antiche Repubbliche Marinare e della Potenza che fu Pisa nel XII-XIII secolo.
Nello specifico, in quel periodo che é l'ultima Domenica del mese c'è il Gioco del Ponte, una manifestazione storica rievocativa che si articola in due momenti distinti ma altrettanto significativi: il Corteo Storico sui Lungarni, una sorta di parata militare assai imponente con oltre 700 figuranti, e la battaglia, ambientata sul Ponte di Mezzo, ove le squadre dei quartieri appartenenti alle due fazioni cittadine rivali danno prova della rispettiva potenza fisica, in un’atmosfera agonisticamente avvincente, rievocando in chiave moderna un “gioco” che risale al XI-XIII secolo, chiamato Gioco del Mazzascudo.

Quindi per chi ne é interessato potrà godersi il Gioco del Ponte, la cui sfilata inizia intorno alle 16/16:30 di Domenica 29 Giugno (orario da definire).

IL TORNEO

Il gestore del torneo sarà Stefano Grisolia
(se necessario si troverà un "volontario" per potermi coadiuvare nell'arbitraggio anche se non penso ce ne sarà bisogno)

- Il torneo si disputerà su 3 partite (1 sabato mattina, 1 sabato pomeriggio, 1 domenica mattina);

in caso di 3 o più tavoli (speriamo!), il titolo verrà assegnato tramite sistema top table (il vincitore del top table, la Partita 03, è il vincitore del torneo, a prescindere dal punteggio totale realizzato).

Nel caso di 1 o 2 tavoli il punteggio sara' dato dalla somma dei singoli punteggi di partita secondo questo schema:

3 partite giocate: la somma dei due migliori risultati più il 50% del terzo risultato.
2 partite giocate: la somma dei due risultati verrà incrementata del 10%.

Al momento vi chiedo, compilando il check-in, il vostro nominativo, che tipo di alloggio preferite, la data di arrivo a Pisa (quindi le notti) e il Mezzo con cui arriverete.

Vi raccomando di completare il check-in in fondo a questa pagina dando le vostre preferenze così da sapere chi preferisce il B&B, chi l'albergo a 1 o più stelle.

In questo modo posso indicarvi la sistemazione più economica attualmente disponibile. Se non sarà possibile bloccare la stanza senza un anticipo, ci metteremo d'accordo per ovviare anche a questo.

COME RAGGIUNGERCI

In Aereo:

Pisa dispone di un aeroporto proprio, l' Aeroporto Galileo Galilei (il maggiore aeroporto toscano) che è servito da numerose compagnie aeree che effettuano voli diretto da e verso Pisa sia nazionali che internazionali. Per ogni dettaglio cliccate vi rimandiamo al sito dell'aeroporto http://www.pisa-airport.com/index.php

La Compagnia Pisana Trasporti CPT http://www.cpt.pisa.it/ collega ogni 10 minuti l'Aeroporto con il Centro di Pisa.
Passando per le principali vie della città, attraversando il Ponte Solferino sull'Arno, la linea LAM Rossa (Linea Alta Mobilità) ti conduce fino a Piazza dei Miracoli (a 5 minuti dalla fermata "Ospedale S. Chiara"), dove puoi ammirare la famosa Torre Pendente.
Partendo dall'Aeroporto, ecco le principali fermate della linea n° 1: Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Lungarni (4 fermate), Ospedale S. Chiara.
Il costo del biglietto è di EUR 0,90 ed è valido per un'ora su tutta la rete urbana.

Inoltre raggiungere Pisa centro dall’aeroporto è facile ed economico grazie ai servizi taxi (10euro circa per arrivare in centro) oppure tramite un treno metropolitano che vi condurrà alla stazione ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale, il torneo si svolge a 100 metri dall'uscita posteriore della stazione di cui si è parlato ad inizio pagina e si continua a parlare anche più sotto.

L'aeroporto è situato a soli 5' di autobus, treno e auto dal centro della città.

In Treno:

Per raggiungere Pisa in treno, a seconda della vostra provenienza, dovrete passare per Firenze, Roma o Milano/Genova. Per ogni dettaglio, potete consultare la pagina delle Ferrovie dello Stato http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/

La Stazione di Pisa Centrale è ben collegata alla rete ferroviaria italiana e ben servita in uscita ed in entrata verso le città essa limitrofe, come Firenze, Lucca, Viareggio, Prato e altre città anche grazie al fatto che si trova nella linea ferroviaria della Roma-La Spezia.

Da Milano – (Stazione di Milano Centrale) : obbligatoria la partenza il giorno precedente, 27 Giugno, P 16:00 – A 20:12 oppure P 18:10 – A 22:12 altrimenti il primo treno disponibile il 28 arriva alle 12:21, opzione solo per chi vuol giocare sabato pomeriggio e domenica mattina.

Da Torino - (Stazione Torino porta Nuova) : cercate di raggiungere la stazione di Milano C.le perché altrimenti c'è solo un treno il Sabato che arriva a Pisa alle 12:21.

Da Genova – (Stazione di Genova Piazza Principe) : obbligatoria la partenza il giorno precedente, 27 Giugno, P 17:48 – A 20:12 oppure P 19:48 – A 22:12 oppure il 28 Giugno P 05:48 – A 7:51 oppure P 06:37 – A 08:52 altrimenti il primo treno disponibile successivamente, sempre il 28, arriva alle 12:21, opzione solo per chi vuol giocare sabato pomeriggio e domenica mattina.

Da Roma - (Stazione di Roma Termini) : obbligatoria la partenza il giorno precedente, 27 Giugno, P 17:46 – A 20:59 oppure P 19:46 – A 23:01 altrimenti il primo treno disponibile il 28 arriva alle 12:57, opzione solo per chi vuol giocare sabato pomeriggio e domenica mattina.

Da Napoli (Stazione di Napoli Centrale) : obbligatoria la partenza il giorno precedente, 27 Giugno, P 15:10 – A 20:04 oppure P 15:24 – A 20:59 oppure P 17:24 – A 23:01 altrimenti il primo treno disponibile il 28 arriva alle 12:57, opzione solo per chi vuol giocare sabato pomeriggio e domenica mattina.

Da Salerno (Stazione di Salerno Centrale) : obbligatoria la partenza il giorno precedente, 27 Giugno, P 13:44 – A 20:04 oppure P 15:42 – A 23:01 altrimenti il primo treno disponibile il 28 arriva alle 12:57, opzione solo per chi vuol giocare sabato pomeriggio e domenica mattina.

Queste sono solo alcune soluzioni, potete benissimo partire prima, nella mattinata se disponibile, io provato a vedere i treni più vicini all'orario di inizio gioco.

Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale ed autobus della città

La Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale è collocata al centro della città ed accoglie quotidianamente centinaia di turisti, lavoratori pendolari e studenti che si recano a Pisa. La città di Pisa è collegata tramite la rete ferroviaria nazionale a molte città, qui sostano numerosi treni Intercity ed Intercity Plus con le destinazioni: Roma (Stazione di Roma Termini), Genova (Stazione Genova Piazza Principe), Torino (Stazione Torino porta Nuova), Salerno (Stazione di Salerno Centrale), Napoli (Stazione di Napoli Centrale) e tante altre ancora. Pisa Centrale rappresenta un importante nodo ferroviario nazionale.

Una volta giunti nella Stazione di Pisa Centrale potrete pernottare nei numerosi Hotel, Residence, Appartamenti, B&B ed Agriturismi di Pisa facilmente raggiungibili sia a piedi che con i mezzi di trasporto pubblici della città. Per prenotare online il vostro Hotel a Pisa ci sono diversi siti che si possono trovare semplicemente inserendo ad esempio sul noto motore di ricerca Google parole come Hotel Pisa o B&B Pisa o bed breakfast pisa.

La Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale è composta da 14 binari, biglietterie con operatore e biglietterie self-service, ufficio informazioni, ufficio reclami, tre edicole, un bar, un tabacchi, Mc Donald e Spizzico dove poter sgranocchiare qualcosa, sala d’attesa e servizi igienici. La sicurezza della Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale è garantita dalla POL.FER (polizia ferroviaria) che si occupa dell’ordine e dei passeggeri che hanno smarrito oggetti, documenti e bagagli.

Nell’entrata principale della Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale è possibile sostare in attesa sulle numerose panchine messe a disposizione per il passeggero e da qui ammirare il fantastico affresco che raffigura il genio pisano di Galileo Galilei mentre espone le proprie teorie astronomiche.

All’esterno della Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale è collocata una bellissima fontana ottocentesca e nella piazza adiacente sostano gli autobus urbani gestiti dalla società CPT di Pisa che conducono in tutti i quartieri della città e nei maggiori punti di attrazione della città come Piazza dei Miracoli, Museo Nazionale di Palazzo Reale e Museo Nazionale di San Matteo.

Linea 1: Aeroporto - Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa - Duomo - Park Pietrasantina;
Linea 2: Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa - Porta a Lucca;
Linea 4: San Giusto - Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa - I Passi;
Linea 5: Putignano - Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa - Cep;
Linea 6: Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa - Cep - Barbaricina;
Linea 7: Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa - Pratale;
Linea 9: Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa - Cisanello;

Le Linee dei Bus vi possono servire se intendere trattenervi qualche giorno in più o spostarvi in giro per la città la sera di Sabato o il resto della giornata di Domenica (pomeriggio).

Il servizio di trasporto pubblico a Pisa è efficiente, e collega tutte le zone della città con autobus. Gli autobus urbani assicurano collegamenti puntuali nel territorio comunale di Pisa. Ogni autobus è indicato dal numero della linea su cui fa servizio. C.P.T.

La città di Pisa possiede anche altre due stazioni ferroviarie: Pisa San Rossore e Pisa Aeroporto. La prima, Pisa San Rossore, è fra le tre la meno frequentata e come si intuisce è posta nei pressi dell’ippodromo di Pisa: San Rossore. La seconda stazione è la Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Aeroporto ed è collegata alla Stazione Ferroviaria di Pisa Centrale con dei treni speciali che partono ogni mezz’ora per venire incontro a coloro che devono raggiungere l’Aeroporto Galileo Galilei di Pisa nel minor tempo possibile.

Per raggiungere Pisa in auto avete numerose alternative:

Da NORD - se arrivate da Nord (attraversando Bologna e/o Firenze) potete percorrere l’A11 (Firenze-Mare) da Firenze ed uscire a Pisa Nord e poi tramite la S.S. Aurelia arrivate a Pisa;

altrimenti

- da Genova, Rosignano potete percorrere l'Autostrada A12 Genova-Livorno-Cecina, uscita Pisa nord o Pisa centro;

altrimenti

- prendere la superstrada FI-Pi-LI e uscire a Pisa Nord-Est altrimenti da Milano potete prendere l'autostrada A1 fino a Fidenza, una volta arrivati qui dovete immettervi sulla A15 fino a La Spezia e prendere l'A12 in direzione Sud fino Pisa centro.

Da SUD - se arrivate da Sud o da Nord-Ovest (Francia inclusa), potete raggiungere Pisa percorrendo la A12 e l’ultimo chilometro sulla A11 fino a Pisa Nord.

Una volta a Pisa seguite le indicazioni per il centro/stazione dei treni.

Per chi arriva alla stazione dei treni col treno o con il treno metropolitano proveniente dall'aeroporto mi faccia un chiamo per avvisarmi del suo arrivo così, a seconda dell'orario, possiamo metterci d'accordo per andare in albergo oppure raggiungere il luogo in cui si gioca; per chi arriva alla stazione in macchina possiamo incontrarci alla fontana fuori la stazione, ad esempio, come punto di riferimento per poi andare verso l'albergo o a giocare, che rimane a 5 minuti di macchina.

Dearest Diplomacy players,

On the 28th and 29th of June, in Pisa, the first edition of a face-to-face Diplomacy tournament will be held. The tournament will be valid for the CISD (Italo-Sanmarino Championship 2008).

This year, for the first time, Pisa, has been given the chance to host one of the many events that will take place in Italy. We will do our best to fulfill our commitment and therefore hope thta many Italian "diplomatics" wil answer this important call; aware thta this will surely help the growth of our hobby through out the nation. This will also be a good way to send a strong signal to all those who follow our development from abroad.

No need for publicity, though for those who don't know it, Pisa is a laughing Tuscan City, famous thourgh out the world for its history and monuments. The famous "Piazza dei Miracoli, (miracles square) with its renowned Leaning Tower was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. The city has Liguria origins, and is, like all Tuscan cities, rich in history and art. The best seasons to visit are summer, to enjoy the beauty of its litorale, and end-of-summer-beginning-of-autumn, to apreciate the beautiful shades of colour the surrounding hills take.
Pisa and Tuscany: a marrige where: art, history, culture, good cuisine, unique landscapes merge to give unforgetable emotions.

We are more than happy to have the honour of being hosted by the Pisa A.C.S.I. - (the Italian Sporting Centre Association) locatedin Via dei Cappuccini 7.
The structure at our disposal offers us a vast area where the playing tables will be arranged and, outside, for those arriving with their own means of transport (car) easy parking.
The site is few metres away from Pisa central train station.
Furthermore, if the chance arises, various games of all kinds of boardgames other than Diplomacy will be played.

Why June? Why the last week?
June is an important week for Pisa. June in Pisa (the Pisan June) is a month full of events that evocate the tales of the Old Maritime Repubblics and the power that was Pisa once was during the XII and XIII centuries.
Furthermore, during this period, which is the last Sunday of the month the "Gioco del Ponte (game of the bridge) takes place. It's a reconstruction of historic facts and is articulated in two distincts significative demonstrations: Il Corteo Storico dei Lugarni (the Lugarni historical cortège), an imposing sort of military parade with more than 700 participants, and the battle, which takes place on the Mezzo Bridge where teams from the neighbourhoods of the city's two rival factions display their physical strength, in an exciting atmosphere, reconstructing in modern way the XI-XIII game of the "Mazzascudo".

Therefore those interested wil be able to enjoy "Il Gioco del Ponte". The parade starts around 4 - 4.30 pm on Sunday the 29th of June (time to be confirmed).

THE TOURNAMENT

The tournament administrator will be Stefano Grisolia
(if the the need may be someone will be found to help me out with the refereeing though I doubt this will necessary )

- The tournament will be compromised of 3 games(1 Saturday morning, 1 Saturday afternoon, 1 Sunday morning);

If a 3 or more (fingers crossed) table scenario, the title will be awarded using a top table system (the winner at the top table, Game =3, is the winner of the tournament regardless of the points scored).

If there are 1 or 2 tables then the score will be calculated by summing the scores of each game using this system:

Though yet to be confirmed and according to how many people will be attending the cost ranges as following :

15-20 €/a head for Hostel

25-35 €/a head for Bed&Breakfast (Double/Triple/Quadruple Room + Breakfast)

30/50 € for a 2 star Hotel (Double/Triple/Quadruple Room + Breakfast)

35/60 for a 3 star Hotel (Double/Triple/Quadruple Room + Breakfast)

For the time being, by filling out the check-in form, I ask you to submit your details, what kind of lodging you prefer, the date of your arrival in Pisa (and therefor the number of nights you'll be staying) and by what mean of transport you'll be getting here.

I recommend that you fill out the check in at the bottom of this page so as to know who prefers the B&B or the various hotels.

This way I can tell you which the cheapest arrangement is available at the moment. If it's not possible to book the room without a deposit we'll find a way to get that sorted.

To help with the organization of these two days, we kindly ask you to comunicate your partecipation (specifying if limited or not to an inferior number of rounds) even if pre-enrolement is not strictly necessary. It's as a form of respect to who is organising.

HOW TO GET HERE

By Plane:

Pisa has it's own airport, Galileo Galilei airport (the biggest in Tuscany), which serves various airlines that carry out many direct flights from and to Pisa both from national to international airports. For further details please check out the airport's website http://www.pisa-airport.com/index.php

Pisa Trasporti CPT http://www.cpt.pisa.it/ connects the airport with the centre of Pisa every 10 minutes.
Running through the main streets of the city, crossing the Solferino Bridge on the river Arno, the Red LAM line (High Mobility Line) takes you up to Miracoli Square (5 minutes away from S.Chiara Hospital) where you can admire the Leaning Tower.
Leaving the airport here are the main bus stops of the N. 1: Pisa central train station, Vittorio Emanuele Square, Lungarni (4 stops), S.Chiara Hospital.
The price of the ticket is € 0.90 and is valid for an hour on the city network.

Another easy and cheap way to reach the city centre is by taxi (about € 10 to get to the city centre) or on a metropolitan train that will take you to Pisa central train station, the tournament will be held about a 100 m from the rear entrance of the station as mentioned above. Further info is printed below.

The airport is only 5 mins away by bus, train or car from the city centre.

By Train:

To reach Pisa by train, whatever you're coming from, you will have to pass via Florence, Rome, or Milan/Genoa. For further details you can check out the Ferrovie dello Stato (Italian Rail) web site http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/

Pisa central train station is well connected to the Italian rail network and to the surrounding cities like Florence, Lucca, Viareggio, Prato and other cities thanks also to the fact that it's on the Rome-LaSpezia line.

I've taken the liberty to include some times.

From Milan – (Stazione di Milano Centrale) : it will be necessary to depart a day early, 27 June, Dep. 16:00 – Arr. 20:12 or Dep. 18:10 – Arr. 22:12 otherwise the next available train is on the 28th at 12:21; possible option only for those only planning to play Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

From Turin - (Stazione Torino porta Nuova) : try to reach Milan Centrale as otherwise there will only be ONE train on the Saturday that reaches Pisa at 12:21.

From Genoa – (Stazione di Genova Piazza Principe) : it will be necessary to depart a day early, 27 June, Dep. 17:48 – Arr 20:12 or Dep 19:48 – Arr 22:12 or on 28 June Dep 05:48 – Arr 7:51 or Dep. 06:37 – Arr. 08:52 otherwise the next available train, on the 28, arrives at 12:21, possible option only for those only planning to play Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

From Rome - (Stazione di Roma Termini) : it will be necessary to depart a day early, 27 June, Dep. 17:46 – Arr. 20:59 or Dep. 19:46 – Arr 23:01 otherwise the next available train, on the 28, arrives at 12:57, possible option only for those only planning to play Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

From Naples (Stazione di Napoli Centrale) : it will be necessary to depart a day early, 27 June, Dep. 15:10 – Arr. 20:04 or Dep. 15:24 – Arr. 20:59 or Dep. 17:24 – Arr. 23:01 otherwise the next available train, on the 28, arrives at 12:57, possible option only for those only planning to play Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Da Salerno (Stazione di Salerno Centrale) : it will be necessary to depart a day early, 27 June, dep. 13:44 – Arr. 20:04 or Dep. 15:42 – Arr. 23:01 otherwise the next available train, on the 28, arrives at 12:57, possible option only for those only planning to play Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

These are just a few possible options, of course you can depart earlier that morning if ther is an available train. I've looked at trains that arrive close to the time of the beginning of the tournament.

Pisa central train station and city bus network

Pisa central train station is situated in the centre of the city and recieves hundred of tourists daily, commutersa and students. Pisa is connected by rail to many cities and Intercity and Intercity Plus trains with destionations such as Rome (Stazione di Roma Termini), Genoa (Stazione Genova Piazza Principe), Turin (Stazione Torino porta Nuova), Salerno (Stazione di Salerno Centrale), Naples (Stazione di Napoli Centrale) stop here. Pisa is an important rail junction.

Once in Pisa you can stay in one of the many hotels, residences, appartments, B&Bs and "Agriturismi" which can all be reached easily on foot or on public transport. To book your hotel online there are various sites available which can easily be found by simply inserting words like Hotel Pisa or B&B pisa in any search engine.

Pisa central train station is made up of 14 platforms, a manned ticket office and self-service ones, an information desk, a complaints desk, three news agents, a bar, a tabacconist, a McDonald's and a "Spizzico" where you can nibble something, a waiting lounge and toilettes. Safety is guaranteed by the POL.FER (Italian Transport Police) which takes care of order and passengers who have lost belongings, documents or luggage.

In the main entrance of the station one can wait on one of the many benches available to the passenger and from here adimre the fantastic fresco that potrais the Pisa born genious of Galileo Galilei while he explains his astronomical theories.

Right outside the station there is a beautiful eighteen century fountain and in the square next to it you can find the buses of the city's network and which cover all the city's neighbourhoods and the city's major attractions such as the Miracoli Square, National Museum of Palazzo Reale, and the San. Matteo national gallery.

From the central station the following buses can be taken:

Bus route 14: Pisa Train Station - Piagge - Cisanello - Pisanova - Pisa Train Station.
The Buses are a good way of getting around the city if you intend to prolong your stay.

Pubblic transport is efficient in Pisa and the whole city is connected by buses. City buses garantee punctual connections accross the whole of Pisa coucil. Every bus has a number indicating what route it takes.

The city has also two other train stations: Pisa San Rossore and Pisa Airport. The first, Pisa San Rossore, isn't as busy and is close to the city horsetrack of San Rossore. The second is the airport's station which is connected to Pisa central station with special trains that leave every half hour to aid those who need to reach Galileo Galilei airport in the shortest time possible.

You have many options to reach Pisa by car:

From the NORTH - if you are coming from the north (through Bologna and or Florence) you can take the A11 (Firenze-Mare) from Florence and exit at Pisa Nord and then procede on the S.S. Aurelia to Pisa;

alternatively

- from Genoa, Rosignano you can take the A12 motorway Genoa-Livorno-Cecina and exit at Pisa nord or Pisa centro;

alternatively

- take the dual-carrigeway Florence-Pisa-Livorno and exit at Pisa Nord-Est or from Milan you can take the A1 motorway to Fidanza, once here you must take the A15 to LaSpezia and then take the A12 south to Pisa centro.

From The SOUTH - if you are coming from the south or north-west (including Frnace), you can get to Pisa by taking the A12 and the last Km on the A11 until you get to Pisa Nord

Once in Pisa follow the signs for the centre/train station.

For those of you who are arriving by train or on the metropolitan train from the airport, give me a call when yuo arrive so, according to the time, we can discuss whether to go to the hotel or to the place where the tournament will be held. For those of you who are coming by car we can meet near the fountain outside the train station for example and the go either to the hotel or to the tournament which is 5 minutes away.
